Case study from July 2020
Raiffeisenbank im Breisgau eG is a cooperative bank in the heart of Breisgau with around 50 employees. The majority of its approximately 13,000 customers are members and therefore owners of the bank. The heart of the bank is the comprehensive advice it provides to its members and customers. The bank places a particular focus on supporting its members. It pursues the goal of providing close financial support to customers in every life situation and being a trustworthy partner and advisor for them.
Raiffeisenbank im Breisgau eG wanted to obtain private and business customer information from a single source and benefit from the advantages of a standardized interface. The bank was looking for a reliable partner who could provide information on its customers quickly and efficiently for business decisions.
Previously, the bank had to manually enter B2B creditworthiness information into the core banking system. There was also previously no way to incorporate a SCHUFA score into the bank's established rating systems. The new solution therefore needed to include digital information that could be accessed at any time without media discontinuity, as well as a fully integrated score.
With data on 6 million companies and 67.9 million natural persons, SCHUFA has Germany's largest data pool with credit-relevant information.
In addition, SCHUFA is the only credit agency with a direct B2B interface to agree21, the core banking system of the cooperative banks. As the Raiffeisenbank was already using a SCHUFA interface for private customer information, it was an obvious decision to proceed in the same way for credit reports and to obtain all information from a single source in future.
By combining the information from the company database with the creditworthiness information on company management from the SCHUFA personal database, credit reports with special significance are created, as liquidity information on the owners and authorized representatives of the companies is included in the evaluation. This benefits the bank when making business decisions.
With the SCHUFA B2B interface in agree21, Raiffeisenbank im Breisgau implemented a process at the end of 2019 that ensures effective risk management on the one hand and constantly improves the up-to-dateness of its customer and company data on the other. The bank also benefits from the exclusive SCHUFA Geno creditworthiness index in the corporate customer quick rating for more accurate forecasts. The index offers optimized and customer-specific use of the data provided by SCHUFA for cooperative banks. This gives Raiffeisenbank im Breisgau greater selectivity and therefore a much more precise risk assessment. The process is streamlined and works in the same way as the credit application process for private customers - a major advantage in terms of clarity.
The seamless integration of comprehensive information saves employees manual effort, leaving them more time for their core business. All important information is now available quickly and cost-effectively at a glance at any time - fully digitally and without media discontinuity. Thanks to the two types of information, SCHUFA brief information and SCHUFA full information, the bank can request needs-based information and assess business risks and opportunities even more efficiently in future - even for transactions with small businesses and freelancers. Optional monitoring makes it possible to keep customer data up to date at all times, even if creditworthiness and company data changes.
