Case study from February 2023

Raiffeisenbank Strücklingen-Idafehn eG, headquartered in the East Frisian town of Ostrhauderfehn, has 4,550 members and around 7,800 customers and offers a wide range of financial services from a single source. This is ensured by close cooperation with the specialist institutions of the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken cooperative financial network. The bank belongs to its members, is committed to them and challenges them.

After a ten-year contract break, Raiffeisenbank Strücklingen-Idafehn eG decided to reconnect to SCHUFA in January 2021. The positive experience gained in the past and the continued contact with SCHUFA were decisive criteria for this decision.

Since then, the bank has been using various products for private and business customers, such as SCHUFA reports with subsequent notifications, the SCHUFA score for cooperative banks and the SCHUFA Geno creditworthiness index, as well as score enhancements and comprehensive credit reports.

With the direct SCHUFA interface in agree21, Raiffeisenbank Strücklingen-Idafehn eG also benefits from a significant advantage: SCHUFA information can be obtained directly in the core banking system - at the touch of a button and without media discontinuity.

Customers are increasingly conducting banking transactions on their laptops, tablets or even on the go with their smartphones. In line with this development, Raiffeisenbank Strücklingen-Idafehn eG wants to provide its customers with extensive online self-services and transaction channels. Linked to credit rating information from SCHUFA, the bank has set up an omnichannel platform (OKP) and plans to implement several automated credit decision processes.

Furthermore, the rating structures in the private customer area were to be optimized and the rating selectivity was to be increased. Raiffeisenbank Strücklingen-Idafehn eG now obtains information from SCHUFA digitally and without media discontinuity directly in agree21 with an integrated score. This allows employees to assess the opportunities and risks of new and existing customers even more efficiently.

By integrating its SCHUFA score for cooperative banks and the associated application rating, SCHUFA supports Raiffeisenbank Strücklingen-Idafehn eG in its online processes. After linking the omnichannel platform (OKP) with the SCHUFA information, the systems work flawlessly and efficiently. When applying for new loans, automated credit decision processes are now used, which are supplemented by the SCHUFA score, among other things. The result: secure and, above all, fast decisions by the bank.

Further successes are the greater selectivity within the bank rating and the technically analyzable material for early risk detection. All current liabilities and bank information are displayed to employees within the SCHUFA report. Automatic monitoring ensures that customer and company data is always up to date: As soon as changes relevant to creditworthiness occur, the bank receives follow-up notifications, a new full report and corresponding customer impulses.
