You have several options:

  • If you still have your PIN letter, you can use the 10-digit PUK it contains to unlock your card. You will need the AusweisApp for this.
  • If you no longer have your PIN letter with the PUK, you can apply for a new PIN at the Citizens' Registration Office.
  • In some cases, the 6-digit CAN (Card Access Number) is required if the PIN was entered incorrectly. It is printed on the ID card.
