With the free IdentSafe in the SCHUFA account, consumers can use the web version to check whether personal data such as e-mail address, mobile phone number or IBAN has been published on the Internet, darknet or deep web in the past 90 days. This service shows whether you have been a victim of data theft. As soon as the result of the check is available, you will be informed by e-mail. Users receive the result directly in their SCHUFA account as well as recommendations for action to prevent damage caused by identity theft and misuse in good time.
Combining creditworthiness data with the free IdentSafe in one place also helps consumers to recognize fraud that is not based on data published on the Internet. This is because criminals often target data that can be used to open accounts or take out loans in someone else's name. As SCHUFA stores data on newly opened accounts and loans taken out, consumers can use SCHUFA Data Insight to find out if a loan has been taken out or an account opened in their name. This allows consumers to check immediately whether they have concluded this contract or not. In the event of fraud, they can act accordingly to prevent financial losses.
The free IdentSafe is initially only available in the web portal. We are working on making it available in the app in the near future.
