As SCHUFA, we recommend that consumers pay their bills on time. However, the new score should also help them to assess their financial and credit needs differently. Consumers should take out one large loan rather than several small ones. Longer-term contractual relationships have a positive effect on the new score, as consumers have proven over a longer period of time that they can meet their payment obligations. People should therefore consciously choose a financial product that they can then keep for the long term. Furthermore, if consumers want to take out a new financial product (e.g. a current account or credit card), they should do so within a limited period of time. This is because inquiries and transactions are only counted once within 28 days.
