There may be various reasons why consumers do not receive a score in their SCHUFA account. For example, SCHUFA does not calculate a score for outstanding payment problems. A score is only calculated again once the outstanding debts have been settled. SCHUFA also does not calculate a score for minors.

Another reason may be the lack of sufficient data at SCHUFA. If no or very little information is available, SCHUFA deliberately refrains from calculating a score in these cases. SCHUFA follows clear rules as to when a score can be meaningfully calculated on the basis of sufficient data. The following criteria apply with the new SCHUFA score:

    Die SCHUFA berechnet einen Score, weist jedoch das anfragende Unternehmen oder Bank darauf hin, dass bislang nur wenige Informationen vorhanden sind.
  • Zu der Person liegt ein laufender oder erledigter Bankvertrag vor.
    In diesem Fall wird immer ein Score ohne Einschränkung berechnet – unabhängig davon, wie lange die Person der SCHUFA bekannt ist.

The background to this is that bank contracts provide a particularly robust basis for a fair and reliable assessment. SCHUFA includes bank contracts among other things: Current accounts, credit cards, leasing contracts, guarantees, unsecured building loans and loans.
