Since September 1, 2023, Brigitte Zypries, former Federal Minister, has served as the ombudswoman for the arbitration board. She reviews your case impartially and independently of any instructions from SCHUFA. If the complaint is justified, she will correct SCHUFA’s decision through an arbitration ruling.

Born in Kassel in 1953, Brigitte Zypries studied law at Justus Liebig University in Giessen. After passing her second state law examination, she began a career in public administration at the Hessian State Chancellery. After holding positions in Karlsruhe at the Federal Constitutional Court and in the State Chancellery in Hanover, she became State Secretary in the Ministry for Women, Labor, and Social Affairs of the State of Lower Saxony and subsequently in the Federal Ministry of the Interior. In 2002, Brigitte Zypries became Federal Minister of Justice. From 2017 to 2018, she served as Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy.

From 2005 to 2017, Brigitte Zypries represented the Darmstadt congressional district in the German Bundestag. Since leaving active politics, Brigitte Zypries has been supporting startups and serving in various volunteer roles.
